BSC PLAYER PROFILE
What’s up Brock02? How are you today?
I'm doing good just waiting to get into the heart of this years softball season. . .
Let’s get started by asking where the name “Brock02” came from?
Well it's nothing too suspenseful about my user name. Brock is my last name and the 02 is the day I was born in October.
Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Detroit, MI.
Where did you attend college - MR. Kappa Alpha PSI? As we can read on your signature line.
I attended Southern University for 3 semesters and then transferred to Florida Memorial College now Florida Memorial University.
How did you begin playing softball?
I actually began playing softball in Miami with some of my old college baseball teammates.
What team did you play with last year?
I played with the Columbus Bucks.
There was a lot of controversy with the split of the Columbus bucks, care to tell your side of the story?
We had a very very good team and a good run for the past 3 years. One of the reasons why I wanted to primarily coach is one of the reasons why I think the Columbus Bucks folded. We had too many player's running the team (while trying to play) and there was sometimes the lack of fairness to certain player's. Another thing was the lack of sponsorship to support our busy tournament schedule. We Love to travel.
And now you’re with TPC. How long has TPC been around?
This is the first year for TPC.
How is the new team going?
Things are going pretty well there have been some drop offs and add ons but the core is still there and we will be a force to be reckoned with. . . Real Talk
Now are you playing with TPC or only coaching?
My goal was primarily too coach, but it has been decided that I can make the team more solid if I play as well.
There seems to be a few questions regarding eligibility of some of the TPC players…Care to elaborate?
First off, the gossiping regarding the player's being legally eligible by BASA rules to play in the recreational division in 2008 with TPC Softball. I have had everyone cleared and would not put a player on the field that I personally knew was illegal to participate on the rec level.
Other than softball, have you played any other sports?
I played point guard 3 years on varsity for Mackenzie High School.
What do you enjoy most about the Black Softball Circuit?
I truly enjoy the competition, listening to the jaw jacking, and being in that "Family Reunion Atmosphere". . .
What are your goals for the 2008 season?
A lot of people only know you through the message board, which is our primary reason for having this forum, what are your thoughts of the message board?
I want to just say that Clay is the man for opening up this valuable line of communication for our circuit. This board has allowed me to meet, talk trash too, joke with, and pray for a many of people that I have not yet even met. I enjoy being part of the debating post, the comical post, peeping at some post, and my all time favorite the trash talking post (especially with the Southerners). . .
What changes or improvements would you like to see?
Honestly I would like to see 2 divisions, or the top 20 teams moved up from Rec, and the top 5 from Super Rec after the World results. Sorry if that was just your weekend to get hott... Also, mandatory support / participation from the South in the North / Midwest tournaments. We would be happy to have 5-10 Southern teams at 2 or 3 Northern / Midwest tournaments.
Tell us something about “Brock02” that most people do not know.
I have 2 boy's 14 and 6 and I am the 12th child out of 14.
Is there someone special in your life?
Not at this time. It's been hard keeping someone when the Love of softball is still calling me every weekend.
I was told you “surf the internet for a living”…What is it that you do?
LOL! ! ! I'm actually a Financial Loans Analyst with Nationwide Financial. I manage and maintain all existing loans and approve and disapprove new applications for loans for clients against there 401K / 403B retirement plans.
wraps it up for us today. I truly appreciate the
opportunity to interview you. Are there any
shout outs before we go?
